Seche Vite is a great fast drying topcoat that will set your manicure quickly. It is actually one of the fastest fast drying top coat that I have tried. A con is once you get to about the half way through the bottle the polish starts to thicken making it hard to evenly apply to your nails.
Instead of throwing out the bottle and purchasing a new one. I am going to share with you how to get Seche Vite back to its normal state and save you the frustration.
So today I will be sharing with you how I thin out Seche Vite properly so that you can continue to use your investment.
Disclaimer: Never use nail polish remover to thin out any polish. It can damaged the polish and its lifespan.
Quick Instructions
- Open Seche Vite, set brush to the side.
- Add 5-10 drops of Beauty Secrets polish thinner.
- Rock bottle back and forth until it starts to mix.
- Replace brush on Seche Vite and let rest for 5 minutes.
- Depending on consistency add more thinner until Seche Vite is back to its normal consistency.
Expanded Instructions
To thin out Seche Vite and other polishes I use a polish thinner by Beauty Secrets that you can pick up at Sally's Beauty Supply or online. It retails for about $4.99 for 4oz.
Depending on how much polish you want to thin out just place a few drops into the polish (about 5 drops at first) then shake the polish. You may or may not need to add additional nail polish thinner to help return the Seche Vite back to its original consistency.
Tip: add the nail polish thinner into the Seche Vite then shake the contents. Since Seche Vite is thick set the bottle down and let it rest for about 3-5 minutes so the nail polish thinner can work through the bottle.
Keep adding nail polish thinner to the Seche Vite until it returns to its original consistency and then you are ready to use your top coat again.
This is a simple, yet effective way to use the rest of your Seche Vite polish before moving onto a new bottle.
