Designing a blog can be very exciting! Here are a few tips to get you started.
Choose your blog colors: Make sure to pick colors that are easy on your readers eyes. Try not to choose neons or colors that are hard to read. My biggest pet peeve is a font that is to light to read the content. So choose wisely....
Layout: How do you want your content displayed? 2 columns 3, or 4? Make sure you space out your content well enough for your readers to easily navigate through your site. Check out some of your favorite blogs and take notes on their designs to get ideas as to why you enjoy their blog.
Know Basic HTML: html will help you to customize your blog more to your liking. You want the top menu bar to scroll with the page? Or do you want a custom menu label. Google whatever you want to change and you will find what you are looking for. IMPORTANT: save your template before you tweak any code, that way if you screw up your safe!
Social Media Icons: You can make your own, find ones for free or purchase them. Etsy has a ton of cute icons and social media packages to help get you started.

I personally like a clean layout that is easy to read. I also like the occasional over done site. I just love everyones personal touch.
